About the course

Study UC's Bachelor of Design (Interaction Design) and unlock the power of digital experiences.

What is Interaction Design (IxD)?

Interaction Design (IxD), also known as User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX), is the art of creating interactive digital experiences that are user-friendly and engaging.

Interaction Design brings together creativity and functionality. IxD can be anything from designing a viral new app, creating functional digital home devices or building intuitive web experiences.

Learn the fundamentals of human-computer interaction (HCI) design

Become a well-rounded UX/UI designer with expertise in:

  • Design thinking and methodologies of user-centred design
  • Industry standard software like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Problem solving, communication and leadership
  • Human behaviour

UC’s Bachelor of Design (IxD) graduates may find themselves in any of the following positions:

  • Designer
  • Graphic designer
  • Interaction designer
  • UX (User Experience) designer
  • UI (User Interface) designer

  • Information architect
  • Content strategist
  • Web designer/developer

To be eligible for this course, applicants must have:

  • Year 12 ATAR of 60+
  • Other Australian Qualification
  • Work experience, or
  • Overseas qualification

No ATAR? Apply via Portfolio Entry

UC offers a number of alternate entry initiatives for prospective students who don’t meet the entry requirements of their chosen degree. For prospective students wanting to apply for a Bachelor of Design (Interaction Design) who have not obtained the minimum ATAR score, you have the option to apply with examples of your creative work.

Course Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

​A credit transfer arrangement may be available for the Bachelor of Design (Interaction Design) depending on the institution, qualification or completed units. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may also be awarded case-by-case. Prospective students are encouraged to book a personalised consultation to explore their entry options.

A course with Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) means the Australian Government has subsidised a portion of your degree, reducing the total balance you are required to pay (known as the student contribution amount).

The CSP amount is determined by the course you are undertaking and the industry you'll be working in after graduation.

Online

Study 100% online, with no in-person requirements. When you join our online community, you’ll get all the benefits of being a UC student, including access to resources, support and guidance. You’ll be able to connect with academics, tutors and other students to share skills, insights and make professional connections. UC online students can access digital study materials, discussion forums, and participate in webinars and virtual workshops.

All in-person study via our UC Bruce Campus.
